I have just been reading about buying old domains with page rank on the mutiny design ’scripts’ (its a blog!) section. Mutiny design for those who don’t know are the dogs on SEO and all that stuff thanks to their revolutionary techniques and pure white hat tactics.

I urge anyone who’s interested in SEO and pagerank to check out their article on  buying old domains.

They have also released a really cool site called SEM Labs, their article here  explains in more detail what its about but the basics is it allows you to search for old domains that are for sale with good page rank.

Hello to Clive at EPT - LTD.

I have just spent a weekend away in Amsterdam (my 4th time… maybe 5th ? ). Anyway this time it was made much more enjoyable than other times because instead of staying in a hostel / hotel, we booked in the Beagle Houseboat.

Having booked it after a friend gave us a recommendation we saw no pictures, read no reviews, just booked and turned up.. and we were not disappointed.

Once we got to the boat, AJ, whom i had emailed to let him know of our arrival time, was cleaning the boat spotlessly clean. He gave us an excellent tour and advised on where to smoke ..etc (Smoking is allowed all upstairs and outside, only the bedroom is downstairs).

AJ had a warm friendly personality and by the time we made a spliff and had it up on the roof (Pics below) he gave us the key, and said he’d be back later to do the washing but wasn’t going to be around much. This was cool with us. (he said he was off to some island north of Amsterdam to take some mushrooms)

Upstairs was very nice and without 10 mins we felt completely at home. Clean and relaxing atmosphere. Upstairs is a big spacious shower with plenty of hot water. The kitchen has plenty of plates, cups, toaster, microwave. You cannot use the stove (for insurance reasons) which means off to the supermarket for microwave pasta or rice…etc The boat also has good internet access for checking your emails, streaming music aswell which was cool.

The upstairs chill out area was great and felt really nice, pics as follows:

I didn’t sleep much downstairs the first night as we had mushrooms (Colombian, and we absolutely mind blowing !!) and i felt sic. I did the second night though and i’d just say watch out for the steep stairs / ladders. This accommodation is not at all for the disabled as the step on/off the boat and steps within the boat will make life difficult.

Conclusion

Overall i would say the beagle houseboat is the best possible place to stay in Amsterdam and would give it 10/10, the only thing i would improve would be louder speakers on the computer ! Thanks for helping create an awesome trip Beagle Houseboat !
