Protx (UK Payment Merchant) has some web pages, which only work in IE, and not ff.

ff whoops IE

Now we all know that if your doing websites, or web related work, IE (4, 5, 5.5, 6, 7 (and probably the next version)) is inherintly crap to the core. It is the most buggy, slow, bulky disgusting thing out there classed as a ‘internet browser’, shame MS has this monopoly to force it down everyone.

Anyway, Protx the UK Payment merchant visit them at www.protx.com (i wont link to them as they are not worth of a inbound link) basically have this webpage where they list the test cards to test payment systems.

Problem is, on any of my PC’s running FF i cannot view the page.

I am so pissed of with them supporting the use of IE and not bothering to fix the issue for FF. Incidently is it not as FF bug, but actually a IE bug. They have put in a <!– html comment symbol which IE has seen and ignored, and ff has done its job and commendented out the relvant sections.

I also saw someone else moaning about it on the protx forums, here: https://support.protx.com/forum/Topic5599-29-1.aspx

Whats my point your probably thinking to yourself.
Well my point is, us web developers put alot of work in for cross browser compatibility, and here we have a big company, that can’t even be arsed to check their site works with all the above browsers, well i’m not happy with that !

On another note, i also emailed them with a screenshot 3 days ago, they replied giving me the information on the page, however, did not correct the page, so i say to you protx, STOP SUPPORTING ONLY IE AS A WEB BROWSER, ITS SHIT !. And if the protx developers don’t realize this for themselves, then no wonder their system keeps having serious errors !
