Yes! YES! YES!. iStock is frickn crawling. I feel like I am on dial up when I am searching for stuff. Even trying to login is pain staking. I would love to know why such a popular site is so frikn’ slow. Did I just answer my own question? No, it has been going on for way to long for them not to have come to some sort of solution. It is ridiculous.

While I was waiting for a page to load on iStockphoto, I Googled “istockphoto website slow”, arrived here, wrote this comment, and the page has still not finished loading!

It is still slow as molasses. I got so frustrated I typed “istockphoto slow” on Google and this came up. I was hoping I would find something like “we know about it and there is a tuck with servers and data pipes coming”.. But no.. It ridiculous - I see my browser struggling with the site and its simply unbearable. If at the very least I could say “show me 500 pictures on each page”, at least I could go jog for an hour while it loads. Even buying the photographs is un-fricking believably slow!!! AAAAGHHH!!!

What has happened to this site!! it used to give such good service, now it just hangs and 9 times out of 10 gives 0 results when searching for something simple like ‘house’
what a pile of shit

It’s as buggy as hell & they deserve to lose all of their customers. Their search options & results are slowly but surely getting worse t
Seems like they’re just interested in raking in the money to me

Fuck those bastards and their whole site. I’m a contributor and they are getting more and more useless to me by the day.

Staggeringly slow. Worst site I’ve used in a decade. What the hell kind of servers are they running on. Worst part is that they have THE photo I’m looking for

I Hate The fact that they use Their Stupid Watermarks
on a perfectly good picture!!! it should be called

I used to use iStock, but switched to
Fotolia - it’s a lot faster and cheaper even if you have to dig a bit more to find that killer shot.

Alas, here we are in 2010 and not much has changed. If you’re paying attention, iStock, a little technology and decent software development practices can fix this.
