Condoms - The Basic Facts

history 1 Comment »

Birth control is one of the biggest concerns that people all over the world has to face. As such, the medical field has come up with various ways to implement birth control and one of the most popular means is the male condom. The male condom is also called “rubber.”

A rubber is actually a thin covering made of latex, plastic, or animal membrane. The most common types of condoms in the market are made of latex. However, due to some people being allergic to latex, the plastic type has been developed. This kind of condom is generally more expensive than those made of latex. More so, it seems that the condoms made of plastic break more easily. The last kind, made of animal membrane, is also termed “natural” condoms.

There is a wide variety of latex condoms. They can be grouped according to size, shape, thickness, lubrication, flavor, and color. The first three classifications may play a critical role in birth control while the latter three do not.

When should a man use a condom? Anytime that he has sex with a partner, he should use a condom. That is, if he wants to prevent pregnancy and/or he wants to be safe from sexually transmitted diseases. In fact, these are the two important roles condoms have. Even if there is only the slightest risk that the sexual partner may have a sexually transmitted disease, a condom should be used. According to studies, men become infected with STDs often when they have oral sex. As such, condoms should be used then as well.

Though condoms present a viable means of birth control and preventing the spread of STDs, they are not 100% effective. For birth control, they are around 85% effective. With careful use, however, the percentage goes up.

You should know that condoms can break – and they do. Once this occurs it is no longer effective. Condoms that are too old would rip easily. Condoms today are packaged in such a way that it is indicated when they should not be used anymore. Improper storage could also cause the breakdown of the material. Keeping condoms in the car glove compartment or your wallet can expose it to high temperatures and thus make the material prone to breakage. Another cause of breakage in condoms is the lack of lubrication. In order to prevent this, make sure that you use water based lubricants. Never use oil based lubricants as they erode the material in the condom. These include Vaseline, baby oil, and others. It may not be obvious but if the condom size is too small, it would not work as well. So make sure that you have the right size.

Remember, you should not put your life at risk. Whether it is pregnancy you are avoiding or the risk of acquiring STD, your life can change drastically if you are not careful enough. Do not go out on a limb and take your chances. It is better to be safe than sorry. Protect yourself now.

This small vibrator is the dogs. It’s just 4 by 3 inches and is more of a massager than a fudding vibrator. It’s a bit like a small remote control that can deliver sensual waves to any part of the body, be it the clit, the back or elsewhere. The batteries have a good life time, lasting for over 24 hours.

Waterproof Vibrators

If you are interested in sex in water, waterproof vibrators will be a great choice for you. They are designed for masturbation in the shower in the bath or shower, but can be equally well applied for fun with a guy. The only real difference between a normal vibrator and a waterproof one is that its internal workings are sealed, so no water can make it stop working. Before you get one, it is important to decide what you are going to use it for as pool chemicals and salt water can damage toys made of jelly, rubber and other life-like materials. It may also surprise you that lubricant is more important than ever when engaging in underwater acts, as the water washes away natural lubricant. Water-based lubricant should be avoided as it will dissolve.

G-spot Vibrators

For those of you who have not found the g-spot or even think that it doesn’t exist, I would urge you to try a g-spot vibrator. It’s located two inches inside the upper wall of the vagina. The G-spot vibrator is generally smaller than your average vibrator. There are many different types, some coming in very irregular forms. However, the most common one comes with a bend in the shaft, which is designed to hit the spot. If you buy one, make sure you buy one that is solid as g-spot vibrators that bend will not do the trick.

Double Ended Dildos: Double Ended Dildos are similar to a dildo/ vibrator but as the name explains have two ends. These enable both partners to experience penetration at the same time. Certainly, they are an effective toy for both the sexually adventurous and the established loving couple.

‘Double Enders’ as they are known are mostly made from soft jelly rubber but there are also models made from Pyrex for a very different feel. There are straight models and more curving models.

The sheer flexibility of jelly dildos makes them a big hit with the ladies and some men too ;). Their ability to come in at angles, bend and shape-shift makes them the perfect toy to hit that all important g-spot. One caution that should be observed though, is that they should not be used in chlorine treated pools or the sea, as they could get damaged. Double-ended dildos are often made from jelly as it better allows two girls to get into a variety of positions.

Glass Dildos and Other Glass Sex Toys

You’ve probably heard whispers about the glass dildo, but maybe you didn’t quite believe they’re real. A lot of people don’t, so if you’re in this group don’t worry, you’re not alone!

To bring you up to speed yes, glass dildos are real. Real amazing, that is. Glass dildos are an incredibly sensual way to experience some intense pleasure in the bedroom, and we’ll go over all the reasons why you should seriously consider getting one.

Let’s start with the thing you’re probably wondering most about: do they really feel good?

Well, the short answer is “yes”, and here’s why: glass dildos are incredibly hard. Unlike other dildos, glass dildos will not bend or move in any way. When it comes to G-Spot or P-Spot stimulation, hardness definitely plays a big part in the level of your stimulation. Glass dildos definitely fit the bill here, and you’ll be amazed at just how incredible it feels when you use it.

Also, many glass dildos have outside stimulators on them like swirls, ridges, or bumps. These add yet another element to the incredible experience you’ll have while using this sex toy. And because they’re so heavy, it really feels like you’re holding something inside you. For many people, this is an incredible turn-on.

They’re also unique because glass holds heat, and coldness, extremely well. By putting your glass dildo in either boiling water or the refrigerator you can experiment with different sensations. This is not something you can do well with other dildos or vibrators.

Glass dildos are also the easiest sex toy to keep clean. Glass is non-porous, which means germs won’t be able to sneak in and grow, which is a concern with other sex toys. You can clean your glass dildo with warm soapy water, or even throw it in the dishwasher if you’re so inclined.

The last point we’d like to bring up here is the design of these dildos. They’re beautiful; most are hand-blown, and all come in a wide range of colors and designs, ranging from clear and straight to curved and colorful. Glass dildos melt the line between functionality and art, and as a sex toy they’re incredibly luscious to look at.
